Pain in the heel is sometimes mistakenly associated with a spur. “Heel spurs that appear as an accumulation of a calcium deposit caused by continuous traction of the plantar fascia do not hurt, what creates discomfort is the tensile stress to which said fascia is subjected.

These spurs appear mainly at the level of the calcaneal bone in the plantar area due to traction of the plantar fascia or at the posterosuperior level due to traction of the Achilles tendon.

For this type of pathology we must perform more to less conservative treatments, since in many cases the plantar orthosis perfectly designed for this pathology has a very high percentage of effectiveness. Secondly, we can use more invasive methods such as infiltrations or even surgery.
